Looking at what engine to put into the Fury for 2011 season, looking at 2008 CBR or R1, but struggling to find info on gear ratios and max rpm to stick in calculator. Anyone help??

Hi Austen,
Use 13k max for the CBR and 13,750 for the R1. The R1 is better suited for your 3.54 live axle - it should be good for around 135 which is fine for any track we race on. The CBR is the stronger motor (especially in the midrange) so would be the motor of choice if you were independent rear. However, your car will still go like stink with the newer R1.
Cheers
Paul
In reality its more like 30hp at the wheels, but still nice to have nonetheless! If there are enough people going R1 maybe there is scope for Mr Bates
to do a custom airbox to reduce the airbox height?
Dump the variable height trumpets and relocate the secondary injectors and you could reduce the bonnet bulge quite significantly I'd guess.
