Kawasaki 1400 Engines...

Anyone know the technical differences between the ZZR1400 and the GTR1400?

Obviously the ZZR makes a fair bit more power, but is that just the electrickery and injectors, or are there mechanical differences inside the engines?

Cheers!

The gtr has a variable valve timing system.I had the chance of one but it had no keys and the ECU is matched to the keys so needed a new ECU and keys or after market one.I decided against it due to the variable valve timing .

Scootz have you seen these 3 wheelers:

vw gx3

There is also a home made one by a guy in sweden or denmark, I will try and find the link.

There are quite a few differences.

1; The GTR has a lower CR, different pistons I think.

2: The GTR has a higher primary reduction so the crank and clutch basket are different

3: Crankcases are different part numbers

4: GTR has an extra oil feed, I think for the bevel box.

5: Gear ratios are different.

Probably more but I stopped checking.

You been looking at the same engine I was?

Cheers
