Is there any concensus on what BHP a busa can take before internals (other than clutch springs) need to be upgraded.
I'm really talking turbo or supercharger rather than anything else.
Cheers
Yes, what it's come out of the factory with
I know a guy who is well up on bikes and he is doing the works on his busa before putting the turbo on ( forged crank, rod, pistons) .. Also know a
kitcar owner who put a turbo on his busa and guess what... it went pop. (spat a rod)
I wouldnt try to turbo something as expensive as a Busa without a set of H-beam conrods and forged low compression pistons to be honest. There's more power but loads more torque also with the turbo conversions - even with low boost
I ask because I am drooling after this:
http://www.pistonheads.com/SALES/1803603.htm
which has my dream engine, but I spoke to the builder and the internals are absolutly standard, and TTS apparantly told him they would be OK up to
300bhp.
Thing is, I would use it mostly for track days, current owner uses it only on the road.
Thoughts??
Sorry, he did reduce the compression with a metal gasket.
Tts do not have the greatest rep, holeshot do!
I know of a couple of Busa's running 250-ish bhp on standard internals without any problems.
buy something already done like this all reliavle power 1000's spent i should know its mine,
tempted???????

I will if you can price match!!
make sure you buy the parts from some 1 like hole shot racing jack or Tim blakemoor racing or big cc/ ray debben if you go down the turbo road as some
people will rip you off like this good luck with your engine build tim and jack are very very good chaps all the best paul

I missed out again, he sold it to a dealer. Will keep an eye out for it but I guess it will be a tad more!!
Could I suggest that you use a de-compression plate instead of a thicker gasket. If you take the correct precaution with fueling and ignition, i don't think you'd have any trouble running about 7psi boost, which should see you over the 200 bhp marks easy. Should keep you happy until you set aside enough money to upgrade the engine internals, and go wild on the boost.
