I have been out for a long run this morning and have developed exactly the same problem as last time, when out driving hard for a long time the clutch
cable vibrates itself tighter and tighter thus pulling the cable in and giving clutch slip
If you some of you wouldn’t mind could you take a picture of how your cable is mounted below the clutch cover, I can then see if I am doing something
wrong or see if yours are set up different - otherwise I think I will need to convert it to hydraulic as I ma getting sick and tired of it happening
dont have a pic, but how is yours mounted? there should be a bracket underthe cover that the end of the clutch cable fits into with a nut on either side of the slot for the cable. these will lock against each other so it shouldnt loosen.

Probably easier to post a pic of mine:
I have not re-adjusted it since I got back
I always tighten mine on the left hand side nut, (on your pics) and leave the other one fixed. how about putting an extra nut on one side to lock them?

ive only got the two on and seems to be fine...
its a random thread i think, you might struggle!
good luck!
Cheers, just been out and took off the bracket and filed all the edges (not sure why) and put it all back together and tightened up using the left
hand nut
Let see what happens on the next run out!
stick a dollop of thread lock on.... must be worth a try
I had exactly the same setup, but I used two nuts either side as lock nuts, with the open end (left side on your piccy) using a nylock as a locker. Never had a problem with it.
Hi Dave
I'll email you a pic of mine when I fire the laptop up ( sent this from my phone ).
I've only got one nut either side and not had any bother. Lock nuts are a good idea.
I bent the bracket so both nuts pulled up square on to it.
Rob
Thanks for all the replies, I think I may loosen it off again today and put some lock thread on too
Rob, how are you doing - we haven't caught up yet!!! How far is Cadwell Park from you as I am racing there in August

Cadwell is do-able Dave. Bit of a trek for you isn't it ?
What are the dates ? I'll try and make it if I'm not on duty.
Do you need anyone to spanner for you or have you got it covered ?

I'll check the date and get back to you.
Yeh, it's about 2 hours from me. I've got a mate who lives near there so would be a good excuse to catch up with him.
Of course you can spanner - you built a car from scratch !! I just thought it might be easier keeping your hands clean
Watch out for the Mountain - it's steeper than it looks on telly !
Never fail to lift the front wheel even on my old ZX6 - god know's what it will be like on the 'Blade - I hope to find out soon
