With my R1 to ZZR14 conversion i'm going to need the above.

the R1 self regulated so i just have a 3bar bosh inj pump

the ZZR fuel rail doesn't have a return so i'll need the reg to also have a return

there are so many different types out there i'm a bit confussed.com

Yes, that'll be fine. With no return on the rail you will need to plumb it in with a T-piece like this:


Feed only injection fuel sys

Looks good to me, but when I fitted a filter king regulator with a gauge, they say the gauges are not safe for normal use and should only be used for setting up (only say that once you open the box!).
Some gauges can be left in line and look great. May be worth checking that point if you have a preference either way.
I'll have a self regulating pump available soon if that helps?

Ok trying to undersand it,
Matt looking at the drawing it looks like the fuel rail would get fuel before the Reg should the Tpiece be after the reg

The pressure will build up equally in the pipes (and anywhere else connected).
As soon as the set pressure is exceeded the regulator will open and let it return.
I though that was rather clever! Looks good to me!

On the ZX14 conversion I did on the Radical I fitted a Sytec FSE FP603 injection pump and a FSE Power Boost adjustable injection regulator (AIR001).
Plumbed it in as per the diagram above and fitted the vacuum line to an existing throttle body takeoff.

Car also runs a PowerCommander as the engine has a sausage filter and a different exhaust. Set up on TTS's rolling road.

Do you need a fuel filter after the pump, or is one before it enough?

I've got a inj fuel filter after the pump in line

Think of the reg as putting your thumb over the end of a hosepipe. The water that's under pressure is the stuff before the thumb (reg), and the pressure in the pipe will vary depending on how hard you press you thumb. Once the water's past the thumb (reg) it isn't under any pressure at all.
