What engine do you have? I recommend a repackable one.

No but I could do with the same, mine is tooo noisy for track days. So will have to sort something out. Let me know what you go for please.

My system was made by PowerSpeed near Ashford in Kent and it's very quit. I'll find out how quiet very soon but it'll easily meet the 98 limit. (Hayabusa)

Someone has just recommended them on the wscc forum.

the one for the engine will be fine, we did a dyno play with 3,

Micron, after market ...crap
Race Art race can.... loads a top end power, loads a noise, bogged down easy at low revs.
Standard can, good power all thru the range, noise no problem.

Thanks for the input chaps.
sadly i never had the standard kawi can, the one i have is a cheapo carbon jobbie
which hurts my ears.
Also I dont have time to have one made, my first trackday is a week on wednesday.
These look good, except for the price!

Interesting about the dyno figures john, i never knew end cans made such a difference.

a few on ebay, not sure if any are suitable though:

My bike had twin end cans, so I am gonna look for an aftermarket one for a bike of that size engine.

Thanks Jon

Ill nip over to the local bike breakers and see if I can get hold of a standard unit.

Sorry for the silly question, but I thought you couldn't use the original can because of the very different diameters, are you talking about a modified original can to fit the narrower diameter or some adapting bit or I'm missing something?

(Out of interest since I may need to change stuff in order to reduce noise and/or incorporate a cat in case things go wrong with approval in Spain.)

Cheers.

I've just had my Powerspeed end can delivered - fantastic piece of kit, realtively quiet, LOADS of power right through the rev range, noticeably betterv than anything I've had on it b4, repackable, stainless, looks the nuts, wot more can I say? Oh, and £195 - which seeing as a standard one from Car Solutions is £175 I didn't think was bad money.

Anyone had any experience using the KAWASAKI ZX12R TITANIUM STANDARD EXHAUST silence?

Jasper - 22/6/04 at 02:35 PM

I've used the standard ZX9 one and it was ok, trouble is they will never be as free flowing as a good purpose built one.

Mk-Ninja - 22/6/04 at 03:45 PM

The standard one must be reasonably quiet though. The one that Ive got on is doing my head in

Jasper - 22/6/04 at 03:48 PM

Quiet yes, lots of power, no. With the free flow end can and the foam air filter, you can also go to the biggest dynojet jet as well.

Lifes never simple is it.

the way i look at it for a bike engine in a bike to make the power it does the exhaust system aint gonna be to bad is it ?

The standard blade one you could see daylight when you looked thru it so it must have been pretty fre flowing whilst been quiet, yup i know i had the race art race can fitted most of the time, i liked the noise, but it was no where near as drivable at low revs than the stanard one,

Alez, the two exhausts i gave you when you bought the car where both blade 3 bolt fittings.

its all down to choice, i have a print out from the dyno which i will try n scan n post, its plotted from 1000 rpm to 12600 rpm at 500 rpm intervals and overlays the stanard and race can, the micron was utter crap, well down all the way thru.
