I'll need to make/get a shift lever for my conversion and would be curious to hear what people's thoughts are on the amount of fore and aft movement that feels "right" at the height of the shift knob. And what about the height itself - perhaps the top of the lever even with the centre of the steering wheel?
I have a complete shift linkage including lever removed from my Fury / Blackbird. If it's not exactly right it might act as a good starting point???
I have found this to be perfect:
Your hand come out of its natural position on the the wheel and straight onto the lever, but with enough room for your hand between. It has about an
inch of movement each way which makes for a nice precise shift without to much travel
