Morse Cables

Has anyone got any pictures of their cars fitted with these for the gearchange? They're cheap on ebay but I'm concerned about minimum thicknesses and how tightly they can be bent due to fairly restrictive routing.

don't want to hijack, but interested in their use as hand brake cables too

Not sure of what they could contribute as a handbrake cable as the calipers usually have big springs on to act as a return anyway.
Hows your progress incidentally?

slow as ever, but i think now, i'm at a stage where everything starts to fall together very quickly!

just thought because of the lengths available for these cables, and the cost, they'd be pretty good. my brake cab;es need to be 2m long each! and i must have 2 of them, one of these looped ones won't work sadly. speedy cabled were, er, extortionate for the 2 cables, about £40 each i think

All I would say is that if at all possible make a mechanical linkage rather than use cables. Cable gearshifts never have the feel or precision of a decent rod linkage, and this applies especially if you have to bend them much.

Ah right. I have a rod linkage made from threaded bar and I thought that the cable one would feel a little better.
