Easy STACK dash - busa engine query ...
MydT9 - 5/2/11 at 09:16 PM

... I hope for someone ... (but not a mechy like me)

In my kitcar I'm running a Suzuki Hayabusa with a stock Busa ECU and connected the Taco output to the STACK 8100 display, it reads the signal but is twice the real value - I.e. At 1500rpm it reads nearly 3000rpm.

The STACK dash has been configured to 4 Cyls.

I'm guessing that the ECU feed needs to be corrected for the STACK input - does anyone know what the ECU puts out and what the dash receives? I bought the dash from another kit car which had an R1 fitted.

Anyone come across this before ? OR, should i take the tach feed straight from the coil 1 ?

Any advice would be great,

Myd

I think you could try the setting for a 2 or 8 cylinder engine and that way it will read correctly.

As above.

As above I run one and I use wasted spark so have to have it set as a two cylinder...

All sorted, changed the cyls to 2 and it worked...

Thanks very much to all who replied

mine [st700] is set to 2 cylinders / 4 pulses [the stack speed sensor is the same for all i think] mine uses the hub nuts [4 off] the sensor is orange tipped if its the same [ps look after it - its over a hundred quid for a new one]

the sensor should have 'EC6' marked on it - goes to the main harness marked 'WS'

guessing theyre the same or nearly
