Hi Chaps

1 - Can anyone tell me what I can safely up the compression to on a 919 blade and how much of a skim is required off an otherwise standard RRV head, to achieve the optimum compression. I'm looking to run standard 98 fuel so need to avoid detonation on whatever compression I'm running with this fuel. Finally, but very importantly, how much can I skim before I end up with valve and piston interference (standard valves, cams and pistons and higher lift and longer duration cams) and will this limit the compression I can run before I reach the optimum?

2 - Where can I get some 'lumpier' cams for the RRV. Is this re-grind territory only, or are there 'off the shelf' cams for these engines? In consideration of question 1 above, is there a good lift, duration and compression equation that someone can share with me?

This is a race engine but I don't want anything too extreme as I'm keen to retain as much torque as possible, but need more top end!

I don't think you'd want to up the compression, spciallially if you want to use pump fuel.
Headwork and cams is the way to go, then a turbo.

BIGCC or Holeshot still advertise tuning for the blade

Got to remain normally aspirated for my race series.

I saw BigCC and Holeshot have complete blade upgrades available but I want to do the labour myself so just interested in the parts really!

If your serious about racing the car take the engine out & ebay it. Then put either a GSXR1000 or CBR1000 blade engine in it. Better horsepower to begin with & the gearboxes are not made of hot chocolate.

Class is limited to 920cc so up to '98 Blade engines, carbed only and no forced induction.

I've an uprated gearbox already in the car!

Any other answers in-line with the original question?
