Hello,
I'm Leon from the Netherlands and i'm building a Alphax/Onyx Firefly.
This kit use the components of a Fiat Panda.
I'm building this kit with a Honda Fireblade sc28 and rear wheel drive.
The problem is the diff.
I want a live Axle and now i have a Fiat Panda 4x4 rear axle with a ratio of 1 - 2.928.
Is this possible or is this diff ratio to long for the engine
Thank you
id have thought that a diff with 1 - 2.928 would be way to long. With the sierra diff it goes down to 1:3.14, but i believe most people run either
3.38 or 3.62?
Ive got an R1 running on a 3.38 diff, and 15" wheels. Theoretically it should do 140mph at the rev limiter in top gear. i cant see any need to
get a longer ratio at all
I'm running 13 inch wheels with 185-6--13 tires
My blade 919 blade pulled a 3.14 diff with 185/60/13 tyres would pull away in second okay on the flat, so should work but you will not max out in top.
I've also a Suzuki Samurai axle with a diff ratio of 3.43 ,maybe this is a better way to go?
The axle must be approximatively 134 cm [52,8 inch] wide .
Maybe there is somebody here with a good idea for an axle?
I'm starting to built my Firefly with a axle with a diff ratio of 1 - 3,73.
Any tips of rims and tire sizes?
Its a slow diff so i must buy bigger rims i think 15 or 16 inch??
