Oil cooler size
Bigboystoys - 16/7/11 at 11:49 AM

Guys after some advise.
Looking for an oil cooler for my k4 gsxr 1000 powered car and wondering what size/row I require. I'm mounting it directly infront of rad so airflow will be direct and a good flow
Thanks sam

I bought this for my 1300, have not mounted it yet. It is big, but I have an oil thermostat so it will help to keep the temp right.
This allows me to drive the car on the street and when ready flog it on the race track on weekends without worrying about over cooling or overheating.

I ran a similar setup in a street car a few years ago and it worked well.

Mine is 19row 230mm wide (or whatever the double width is).

Probably bigger than necessary, but I do have a thermostat.
I don't have an oil temp gauge.
No claim that it is good but its a datapoint!

If in doubt you could copy what is on the bike.

The bike I think comes with something more than 14 but less than 19. I assumed it would be under a higher strain and I would be revving it pretty hard so figured the bigger of the 2 would be best..
