Hi all,

Any ideas what sort of temperature my electric fan should kick in at on my blade engined F27?? Its getting very hot and I've not heard the fan kick in, and thinking about fitting an override switch so I can control it myself! Get a bit paranoid sometimes!

Maybe the thermo switch is not working.

Don't know about the Blade, but most modern bikes kick in around 95 degrees, they are quite happy to run over the 100 degree mark with no ill effects as long as the system is holding pressure.

Well I def reckon I hit the 100 Mark temperature wise, looks like I will have to do some investigation!!!

most bike engines run a 1 bar or 1.1 bar radiator cap and don't switch the fan on until 106 deg C and usually switch off at 99 deg C. this gets a lot of bike owners worried especally if the bike has a digital temp gauge readout. If your car is fitted with the bike thermo switch, then it may well go over 100 degrees without turning on.
