Davies water pump plumbing

Hi

The plan is to fit the water pump up front, and pipe down one side of the car along the sill under a suitably cut panel, then run the return back to the front via the other side.

The wp outlet is 34mm.

The blackbird water pump pipes are 30mm from memory.

What piping solutions, prefer flexible jobs, would you suggest that msa would be happy with. I cannot find a pipe around 34mm in braided unless I buy the braided covers.

If the pipes are in their own compartment , or totally secure from the driver if they burst do they still have to be braided outers?

Thanks

Hi
we use the same water pump on Sabre and a number of RGB cars including some where the rad is up front and pump at rear. All we do is use 34mm reducers to knock down to reqd size (in our case 25mm) then use alloy pipe to get front back to front. It can be bent on a bender to follow contours or cut swaged and then joined at appropriate angles using silicon hose bends. Advantages are that its relatively cheap, light and the alloy works like a mini radiator along its length.
Hope that helps
Andy

I can bend up anything you want (some restrictions length wise) in either 32mm or 25mm aluminium tube with beaded ends, obviously long straight lengths are no problem & again we can bead the ends so they are secure.

I was going to U2 you anyway about braided brake lines for the Fiat - Ive just bought all the brake pipes & ends etc but will be needing a set of braided lines for Powerlite fronts & Sierra rear calipers.

The braided line for the coolant is reasonably flexible, and will be a doddle to install, thats why Im avoiding the hard pipes at the moment. I have an open mind however. Still not certain the coolant pipes need a braided outer when routed through their own compartment, ie separated from the driver in the event of a pipe burst.

Cheers
