hi all,got a question and not much info

so even guesses will be ok

what is the bhp of the above(dont know model)
and what sort of performance should i expect in a light weight vortx rt

Peteff - 17/8/04 at 06:42 PM

Most people seem to claim between 137 and 145 bhp at the wheel in a bike.

rizla - 17/8/04 at 06:49 PM

ooh thats more thann i thought............

what does it feel like driving with a bike engine in compared to a car engine

as you can tell ive never driven one so what should i expect

I went round Donington in MK's fireblade powered de dion locost a few years ago with Lubek driving and it was fast enough. . I've got my ZX9R engine now and I've been mutilating my rear axle all day today.

ditching the standard exhaust and airbox alledgedly raises it to 150. Some would say it needs a rejet without the airbox, not a clue myself but it would seem a good idea.

I'm shortly about to compile a video of what it's like in a BEC but my ISP won't allow mpg uploads... I'm uploading it to lycos right now. Will post link shortly...

We measured 120bhp at the rear wheels on AVA's dyno with our ZX9C powered LMP. This was with a dynojet kit, a Pipercross 'sausage' filter, and an unrestricted exhaust.

Transmission (g/box, diff, clutch, etc...) usually accounts for approx. 30% losses from 'flywheel' output. Because a ZX9 doesn't have a flywheel, this would probably be more like 25%, making the 150bhp figure feasible.

Rizla - it will feel fast - very fast, but then you'll get used to it and want more!!!

Performance depends on gearing

rizla - 18/8/04 at 05:39 PM
