I bought this to top my 919 lump up, guy in the shop is building a MK Blade and has some racing experience. I have not seen it recomended anywhere and
it doesnt say its for bikes with wet clutches etc. Maybe thats what all the letters are about? It says it mixes well and is a good semi synth...

Be aware I once used cheap oil in a GSXR600, and the clutch slipped like mad! Use the oil the OE manufacturer specifies.
Lucas is good oil, but that looks like it's for a car not a bike with a wet clutch. Get proper bike stuff.
NO!
That will give you clutch problems!
That, AFAIK is not the motorcyle version
LUCAS oil is good enough, but not that!

That will give you clutch problems that you dont have already!

It will almost certainly be fine. The oils that tend to cause problems are ones that are marked as "energy saving" since they have the specific friction modifiers that wet clutches don't like. Plenty of people use only (good quality) car oils in their bikes and have no problems.
You need an oil that meets JASO-MA standards for a motor cycle wet clutch.
Mmm, well I put half a litre in on Sunday and probably done an hours hard driving since with no clutch slip? A bit worried now though! The guy is a
friend ish in the shop and has had bikes for years so I can't understand why he'd let me buy shite? It was also £10/litre so hardly cheap
but if it saves my clutch ill drop the oil tomorrow! Shame it's only been in for 300 miles....
Dave
As a side note can bike oil be used in car engines?
I have some very nice correct viscosity oil that says its for bikes. Can i use that in my car?
I run Comma Eurolite semi synthetic 10w-40 ( ACEA A3 B3 API SL CF ) in the Blade and the R1, lots of trackdays never had an engine or clutch issue
So do I drop the oil then? Only half a litres gone in and as I say no slip yet! But rather avoid than cure...
Dave
No, it'll be fine for topping up. I personally wouldn't use it for a full change and would rather go for proper bike stuff. Others on here seem to have used car oil OK, which is fine, but I used to have an Aprilia 1000 V-twin that was very sensitive to the right oil. If you put full syn rather than the specified semi syn in, it would slip
The best thing you could do is ask here about specific oils and applications

These are the oil gurus and really now their stuff about everything to do with lube. They will give you sound advice and no bull. They often have good
deals on too. I tend to buy a few gallons at a time and pick up from them at places like Rally day at Castle Combe where they usually have a stand or
they will deliver.
Thanks chaps all taken on board! Ill leave it in for another 200 miles then do a mid summer oil change with proper stuff, it doesn't get alot of
use, dry Sunday mornings/late evenings if any slip occurs I'll drop it ASAP ...
