after reading various threads about diffs i have two questions....
1 what the hell is the diff i've just aquired off it's a 7.5 inch top mount and the prop turns just over 4 times to 1 revolution of the
wheel.
2 this diff has good output bearings where as my lsd is about 3.6 turns of the prop to 1 of the wheel. but has a shot drive shaft bearing. is it an
easy job changing the bearing and setting it back up
tony
well, i guess it will be a 7.5 inch diff with a 3.92 ratio! not sure how easy it is to change bearings, but if you move the crown and pinion it needs re shimming i think.
Was there a tag attached ?? if so try cleaning it up with a piece of emery cloth, diff ratio should be marked, sometimes difficult to read though. Rusty
