07-08 R1 exhaust manifold dimensions?
jelly head - 18/1/13 at 11:05 AM

Would anyone on here know the dimensions of a 07-08 R1 exhaust manifold (primary & secondary pipe – lengths and diameters)?

I’ve searched the web and drawn a blank, just wondered if someone on here might have them.

If not I’ll just have to hit ebay and see if I can pick one to have a measure.

Cheers

Rich.

If no-one comes up trump then why not go to a local 2nd hand bike dealer and measure?
They will be quiet at this time of year and are normally friendly folk.

When I next get out to the workshop (snow!) I'll have a look - I've got one there I think still, albeit its damaged.

That's great - that would be appreciated.

I had thought about that but i wasnt sure if i'd be able to measure the secondary pipe dimensions properly on a bike as in pictures I’ve seen it appears to be a single pipe divided into two and i wasnt sure if i'd be able to determine how far the divider runs… if all that makes sense?

If not, post the question here : http://www.r1-forum.com/

If you can't post let me know and I'll do it for you.

Cheers

From what has happened to these engines racing, it seems that you need larger bore than standard to ensure the engine doesn't destroy itself

Speak to andy grant, his engine was reliable after he had a Tony law system built, I'd say Tony is the man to build you what you need

Its a lot easier for me to see Charlie at Pro Speed who built Bob's...

I know its a long way but I am well happy with the Tony law system I have, good prices too

Hmmm having the engine stay together would be nice... so avoid the standard manifold dimensions then, any ideas how much larger?

Tony law is fairly local for me so a visit would be easy enough, do you think he'd know what would work best with this engine?

MK9R - 19/1/13 at 09:53 AM

If Tony if local he's your man. Only thing is he only works in mild steel, doesn't make stainless. I'll ask the guy from rgb what the dims are

MK9R - 19/1/13 at 07:25 PM

Andy's manifold is 40mm outside dia, so think its 38mm internal as mild steel

Thanks for the replies.
