Throttle Body machining

Anything I should be aware of before setting away my son in law modifying the Blackbird throttle body to accept the fatter Rc injectors? The S2000 injectors for sale were all used with no history, and flowed 390cc maybe, but this was also debatable as there are different flow rates, which I understand cannot be confirmed unless you put them on a flow bench. Looked at importing a set of 4 injectors from RC in the USA, but got this unused set from a Honda Civic owner who never fitted them, came with harnesses and are flow matched 440cc jobbies.


The injector length is accommodated ok with spacers on the 2 mounting studs.



Plan is to replicate the profile inside the body, so it sits nice an snug on the rubber washer, surprisingly this is new ground to me so please give me some feedback/advice...


Anyone done this before ?

Just be aware that a replacement set of throttle bodies isn't cheap!

I got a set from Nat about 5 years ago still in the attic. If you screw them let me know and I'll see if I can dig them out.

I nearly started it myself yesterday, then decided against it. The Honda injector seat is like a bowl with a 7mm hole at the bottom of it. That needs machined into a 13.5mm parallel hole, to accept the lower injector bit, with a 9mm hole for the injector pintle.


To keep it all straight, the body needs clamped to a flat surface, and then machined.
