Put some petrol in for the first time today hoping to get the engine started but it appears there is an issue with the fuel pump, i.e. it isn't
starting/priming/doing anything.
I have got 12v at the fuel pump relay coil but the coil doesn't activate. The other wire from the coil disappears into the ECU according to the
wiring diagram.
Any advice on where to start with locating the problem?
I assume there will be several conditions that must be met (various sensors to be activated) before the ECU allows the fuel pump to get power so any
ideas what these might be? (Tip over sensor and side stand switch were sorted when MK modified the loom)

Is the bike engine in neutral?
Did MK lock out the clutch switch or have they fitted a clutch switch?
P.S. - on the GSXR1000 you get a lower rev limit if the clutch switch is kept permanently enabled.
Either use a push button starter switch with double pole of fit a microswitch to the clutch pedal.
Do you have a UK spec ECU with immobiliser or do you have a US spec ECU without the immobiliser?
If UK spec are you using the original key switch and key?
If USA spec, and not using the original ignition switch,have you fitted a resistor in the feed from the ign to the ECU?
The bike is in neutral
The clutch switch is now operated by a relay that engages, along with the crank relay, when the start button is pressed.
When MK modified the loom they took the connection for the ignition off the loom. In its place are 3 relays... one for ignition, crank and clutch.
I am not sure about the immobiliser. I assume it is UK spec.
One thing I have remembered.......... When I bought the bike from eBay and it was running, the fuel pump relay was not where I expected it to be.....
it was near the rear of the bike, under the pillion seat along with an aftermarket alarm system. I told MK about this and it looks like they have
removed the aftermarket alarm and put the fuel pump relay back where it should be (next to the fan relay and fuel level resistor). I wonder if this
has something to do with it?
How do I know if the bike has an immobiliser?

EDIT - the alarm was a Datatool system 3 which appears to be an immobiliser according to the datatool website. All the alarm stuff was removed by MK
and I think thrown away.

Both the US and EU have anti-theft that will immobilize the bike but they are different. The "immobilizer" on the EU version has a little
antenna around the lock that broadcasts an Radio Frequency (RF) signal. The keys have little RF identification (RFID) chips in them that broadcast
their unique number when they detect the query from the ECU. The number in the key needs to match the number in the ECU or the bike won't
start.
The US bikes have a resistor in the ignition lock that makes the voltage on one of the power wires coming out of the lock to the ECU a fraction of the
battery voltage. The ECU measures this voltage and if the ratio is not correct the bike will not start.
So if you use an EU ECU you will need an RFID lock/harness and the matching key. If you you use the US ECU you will need the lock with the resistor in
it. However by wiring the resistor into the harness you could get a US ECU to work on an EU harness. "
What year is your GSXR engine?
Mine is a 2002 K1. I can't find any info as to how the data tool system 3 immobiliser connected to the ecu. Also can't find out if the K1 had a factory immobiliser.
Looks like K1 models did not have an immobilizer as standard.
Is your fuel pump relay OK - have you tested it?
If you are not using the key switch ignition then you need a 100 ohm resistor between the O/Y lead and the B/W lead at the main loom ignition
connector.
Note: this applies to K1 & K2 - later models go to +12 rather than chassis!!
