At the end of last year I set the carbs up for the IVA, and got:
CO=0.041 %
HC=00017 ppm
Lambda= 1.01
Thought that I had better recheck for looming IVA, and it's running like a bag of nails
It's fine at natural idle, but a nightmare at 2500 idle check. CO and HC are fine, but the lambda is all over the place.
It's virtually impossible to hold at 2500-3000rpm on the pedal, so I made a clip to hold the cable at 2750, and it will not hold a steady speed.
It goes to around 3100 then drops to 2200 running very rough, picks up again to 2750, lambda Ok for about 5 seconds, and repeat.
I fitted carb overhaul kits (HOW MUCH) last year and as said it was fine. I drained the fuel before putting to bed, and filled with fresh fuel last
week. Any ideas welcome.
Carb balance? not sure how it would change from just sitting there but stranger things have happened. Very simple to make yourself a carb balancer
that is incredibly sensitive and accurate using some vacuum line and two bottles.

Strip the carbs and clean the primaries, they always seem to clog up when standing even empty.
Stripping the carbs seems the way to go. Have checked fuel levels, and carb balance is spot on.
Yep! one pilot jet blocked, along with the gallery drilling's on another carb.
Took it for a pre IVA MOT today and it passed emissions
