Hi guys looking at fitting a lsd to my zx9 but haven't a clue on witch one to go for any ideas would be great

Thanks

depends on what your after.. speed or acceleration?

rickcoop09 - 12/6/13 at 09:03 PM

Bit of both really but didn't want it top ending at 100mph

Depends on budget and axle.

If you have a sierra rear axle then a standard sierra LSD will come in at around £250, a custom quaife etc will set you back £1000 by the time it's all fitted up.

Unless you can really drive I doubt you would gain any advantage paying the extra, spending the balance on lessons would get you around the track faster.

i'm changing my 3.92 to a 3.62 lsd soon.. just so its not killing the engine at 70mph.. 3.92 max's out at around 110mph at 12000rpm

rickcoop09 - 12/6/13 at 09:16 PM

Bonus love it when that happens!!

doobrychat - 12/6/13 at 09:26 PM

that's dropped from 150 to 120 in a week.. it's a 7.5 inch diff.. measure the mounts on your chassis to make sure its not designed for a 7 inch..

thats the width between the 2 top mounting holes in case you didn't know..

rickcoop09 - 12/6/13 at 09:28 PM

Will do that, would it be any good though?

mark chandler - 12/6/13 at 09:33 PM

You will also want the associated 1/2 shafts unless yours are bolt on.

It is unlikely that you have a 7.5" diff which explains the price drop, you need to measure up and have a search on here "lobro" to determin if you have bolt on or push in half shafts.

rickcoop09 - 12/6/13 at 09:38 PM

There bolt on shafts so need to get it up on the ramp tomorrow and have a measure up then have another look

Thanks for all the info guys

Easy way to tell which diff you have is to look at the top mount bolt
1 long bolt and its a 7" diff
2 bolts either side its a 7 1/2" diff
Bolt on half shafts come in 100mm and 108mm pcd
The 7" or 7 1/2" measurement refers the crown wheel size not the top mount width although the top widths are similar to crown wheel inside

If you are asking me i can't answer your question as its not me selling the diff parts its Wadders that is.
what i was thinking is you could put the LSD parts in your diff casing

Would that work?? If it would I'd have them..

jacko - 14/6/13 at 03:11 PM

You would have to do more checking first but i cant see why not
