Im starting to look at the dry sump/oil system runs shortly, I had planned to mount the engine oil cooler low at the back of the car, but keeping it
fed with cold air seems a bigger job with scant space. There is more space either above the old Fiat parcel shelf or below it, eg if I sat it ontop of
the parcel shelf, a simple duct in the side window could feed it, with venting in the back window to let the heat out (perspex)
Alternatively under the parcel shelf, side duct somewhere and heat out through the open boot lid, Abarth style -
Is it a problem mounting the cooler higher up, ie with oil draining back down with gravity?

If you stand it with the unions at the top it will not drain back.
When I was asking Kenlowe about an auto-trans cooler they said the simple fact you are providing extra cooling is more important than the exact
location.
If mounting it close to the water rad then it's best to mount it tight up against it so the airflow through both is un-interrupted.
Personally I like the idea of the open boot lid but that's because I remember 500's racing en-masse at Monza like that.
HTH.

Ideal ! - Will mount it unions on the top, and probably under the parcel shelf.
With a side window duct and air feed.
Thanks
