Pingel Shifter

I have a Pingel shifter, which I would like to move from its present location, back through the bulkhead line into the cab area behind/between the seats.

Reason for this was made after I made the exhaust manifold, and its proximity to the gear cable, and because of a few lame excuses. I still need to spend some time playing with the lever lengths, intention is to cut down the gearbox lever a bit further.

Anyway - dont want a manual gear cable, so Im going for buttons on the wheel and no manual back up.

Will it be reasonable to fabricate a pushrod to fit the end of the Pingel and mount it further away from the gear lever ?

There should be no problem, but how far?

If it was too far I would support the pushrod with a bush half way along.

I had in mind about 30-35cm and supporting the extension with a small rose joint at a suitable point. ?

The vertical square tube to the right of the white plug, is the bulkhead line, so thats the distance, just enough to move the solenoid away from the heat.
