Just decided to try to remove the sprocket from the blade engine. Had a quick try but seemed tight, is it just a case of put it in gear and then give
it some wellie! and maybe a tap or two with a club hammer??

i removed mine with a windy gun and socket- the impact undoes the bolt no problem. failing that a shart crack with a ratchet might do it with the engine in gear
Be a bit careful with applying forces with it in gear - despite engine torque figures probably exceeding those which you would apply with the socket
to the nut, the idea of sudden force through the gears is a bit worrying. We made up a tool, very simple, for undoing the sprocket nut on my
lad's 'Busa. See your average Haynes tip in manuals for OHC engines - two lengths of bar, drill holes , bolt to sprocket, hey Presto! Job
done. Where Haynes show bars bolted to the car cam sprocket(s), you can use bolts which sit snugly in the teeth, and add a couple of pieces of angle,
one on each bar, pulled together with a long nut/bolt to keep the bolts in the teeth. Works a treat.

Lock the sprocket with a mole grip clamped on it. You should get enough leverage to slacken it off.
