Driving to IVA - What PC3 map should I use?
Sloan85 - 31/8/13 at 01:11 PM

My Power Commander has been set up for emissions but I'm thinking of driving to the IVA so I am trying to find out which map I should run for the drive there.

There seems to be loads on the power commander website. Can anyone advice which I should use.

Engine is a GSXR 1000 K1.

Cheers

I think you would be best to drive there using the mapping that you intend to use for the test,
simply its one less thing to go wrong by fiddling on the day.

I'd just take it with the IVA map.

None of the maps on the PC web site will be optimised for your set-up. Picking one of them could be no better than standard map. To get the most from your PC you'll need a custom map (RR session etc).

Driving with a map leaned out at idle and 3k rpm won't do any dmage to the engine?

Not heard of anybody blowing an engine on the way too/from IVA due to an IVA map.

First, the two bits of the map you've leaned out are at no and very low throttle/load so won't cause problems. Second, you've leaned it out to the levels required to pass IVA/MOT so they're not lean, they're correct and the same as most engines on the roads run all the time.

The rest of the map may/will have areas that aren't ideal but so will any other maps you might load without having it properly mapped.
