Chaps,
can I appeal to the collective wisdom please.

Fireblade 929 engine
Rod gear shift mechanism
Start the car with clutch depressed. No problem.
Gear selection with clutch depressed no problem.
With the engine running, Neutral light indicating in neutral, lift the clutch and it picks up a gear and the car stalls.
Any clues would be good, any cures would be even better.

Engine off, rock the car are you sure it's in neutral?
Very hard to find, do not trust the light, also are you looking between 5th and sixth, not first and second as it's easy to go the wrong way, in
first or second it should pull away.
I would remove clutch plates, and soak them in engine oil over night, refit next day and try it again, sometimes when these engine have been stood a while the plates dry out, I ran a 929 blade in my first kit car, its great engine, nice and smooth, with plenty of power, good luck with it cheers Paul
That sounds suspiciously like the scenario when either a shift fork is bent meaning its not really in true neutral or a circlip comes addrift letting
a gear "wander"
