mad-butcher - 10/11/04 at 07:32 PM

assuming i need a 3.6 diff for the blade engined indy what sierra does that come out of. the local breakers are very helpfull as in a diff is a diff . mention its for a kit car and the price goes up.
am I right in assuming it's 3.6 revolutions of the prop to 1 of the rear wheel
also anyone doing any good deals on a digidash for cash i'd like one but not at that price... also which one do i want road or race..... for road use also track days
many thanks
tony

the majority or sierras had a 3.6 diff. I found mine in a 1.6L. F reg if that matters. the tag on the back of the diff reads the right ratio usually, so a quick wander round should find what you want.

I have a 3.58 (from a diesel) in my fireblade car with 15" wheels.
in my new car with 13" I will use a 3.38 also from a diesel. In both diff I mounted the LSD from a 3.62 ( I believe XR4)

ive never heard of a 3.58 sierra diff. is that a european option? what cars had them? cheers.

ps when you found a 3.38 in a diesel, was it a 1.8 turbo diesel or the 2.3 na diesel?

apparantly a 3.38 is rare as rocking horse poo and also the most popular 1 to have with any bike engine. that what ive got, but not sure which sierra it came from tho. sorry.
