I have aquired a second hand rectifier. This may seem vague but I am not sure which bike it came from (Honda I think). Its finned and has one additional wire to the usual complement on the Blade.
I want to use it if possible for cooling purposes. I have been told that the extra wire (Black) should go on a switched live feed., such as the brake light feed.

Can anyone confirm or reject this.

The other wires are the three yelow from the generator, a red live and an green earth.

the way you describe it, also applies to zx9s, if thats any help. only difference is that the live is white.

Fitted it today and charges a treat. Located it on an ali heat sink just inboard of the front wishbones. It will keep nice and cool there.
