Bec diff ratio

Planning on replacing my xflow powered striker with a 1998/99 TTS built zx9r.
The car is going to be used for hillclimbs and sprints (not registered for the road)
Will my english axle diff ratio be any good with the above engine.
Its out of a 1.6 mk2 escort so should be 3.54.
Cheers

Have you already bought the motor?

I expect it will be fine, you will need a LSD in it as well.

For reference, my R1 motor in 6th gear with a 3.38 diff runs at a little under 1000rpm for every 10 mph (roughly), i.e. 50 mph is just below 5000rpm.

It should suit the hills well.
Long sprints it may be a bit low geared! Assuming your running 13" rims

A zx9r engine with a 3.54 diff on 185 60 13 tyres will be 10.3 mph per 1000 revs in 6 th gear my striker would Rev to 12 k in top so max of 124 mph if you went to 205 60 13 you would get another 5 mph top speed approx hope this helps .

Yes running 13inch wheels. Most of the hills and sprints round me are quite short. Only got into 3rd gear in my escort.
On a very tight budget so can't afford a lsd at the mo.

I never had a lsd in my striker but I wasn't hill climbing just on the road and trackdays never caused me a problem .
