Hi chaps after building and selling my gs moon buggy that I converted to a honda fireblade

I was lost without having a buggy in my life so after a year of looking I found a 2006 joyner 650 sandviper that's been converted to a 1300cc SUZUKI hayabusa 200bhp engine .
I traveled 15 hours to get it and boy was it worth it this thing is mental !
It's got 200bhp and weighs 500kg making it around 400bhp per tonne which is more than some Ferraris Lamborghinis etc
It drives lovely and I'll be improving it along the way.

This is the full spec as it stands now :

SUZUKI HAYABUSA POWERED ROAD LEGAL JOYNER BUGGY.
This has a suzuki hayabusa 1300cc 200bhp bike engine fitted.
0-60 in 2.5 seconds.
150+ mph.
400bhp per tonne.
Pipercross px604 air filter.
Custom made stainless art twin exhausts.
Delimited in lower gears.
Power commando fitted and has been remapped to suit.
Sierra Cosworth lsd custom made chain driven diff.
Custom made chain adjuster on diff housing.
Uprated Wilwood 4 pot calipers all round.
Wilwood master cylinders with Brake bias valve can adjust the brake performance front to back.
Custom made pedal box with brake and clutch master cylinders.
Braided brake lines throughout.
Everything's rose jointed, all suspension arms, steering arms and shocks etc
15" oz superleggera lightweight alloys with road legal slicks.
Fibreglass seats surprisingly comfy and stop you from falling out at 150mph !
5 point harnesses.
Omp steering wheel.
Push button start.
Fan switch so you can manually operate the cooling fan.
Electric reverse so no pushing it backwards.
Speedo healer to calibrate the speedo.
Cat 1 alarm and immobiliser.
Alloy large capacity radiator.
Alloy oil cooler.
Alloy water overflow tank.
Alloy oil catch tank.
Alloy large capacity fuel tank custom made.
Custom made suspension arms all round with adjustable camber and toe in/out.
Custom made mudguards all round.
Battery relocated to the front.
Custom made fuse box under the dash.
Carbon fibre panels everywhere.
Hydraulic custom made clutch pedal.
Quick shift rally car style sequential gearbox you can't change gear quick enough !
Custom made single piece driveshafts £500 alone !
Heavy duty did chain.
Converted from lhd to rhd.
Uprated adjustable suspension all round, can make it harder or softer etc
Custom made Samco hoses all round.
Led lights all round.
Engine swop is on the logbook with dvla.
Indicators and lights etc all work through the bike clocks.
Got a fuel gauge, temp gauge all works etc
Got hidden immobiliser switches on it as well as a immobiliser built into the loom so no chance of it being stolen !
Over 100 hours went into making the wiring loom alone on this !
Obviously the whole buggy is custom built so every part has been changed on it and modified to suit.

Looks like a lot of fun, 400bhp per tonne is more most ferraris Lamborghinis etc.

One question though, how on earth is that get road legal?

Assume it's not been IVA'd?

Edit - just want to say I'm not criticising any build quality just when I saw the front I imagined the IVA Man poking his projection stick around the front!

Its a lot of fun everyone stops and stares. It's been iva tested all road legal with logbook etc

Whats it registered as on the V5?

Also, didn't you post on facebook the other day about wanting to turbo charge it? What's made you change your mind and made you want to sell it?

Registered as a 1300cc joyner buggy, didn't wana sell it tbh but if I get what I want I might consider it. Was thinking about a turbo but I took it out again over day and tbh it really doesn't need it lol

Ideal she's a beauty just changed every nut and bolt for a4 stainless steel now as they're starting to rust. Broke a driveshaft the over day so waiting on some single piece hardened ones to be made by brand engineering in birmingham.

Yep it's a engine start cutoff switch, u must of thought it was guna stolen so u put a secret cut off switch in it lol

Also while ur here any idea what steering colum it's got on it ? As the uj joints have some play in them now so need to source a new steering column with the uj joints. I think its original buggy but going by the new ones online it looks a lot longer ? Not sure.

Changed all the threaded bar that was used in the diff and engine mounts for proper stainless steel shouldered bolts. Changed every single nut bolt and washer for a4 marine grade stainless steel.



The old chain adjuster had mild steel threaded bar welded on and the threads where bent and started to strip the thread so I cut that off and welded some stainless steel threaded bar in and strengthened it.









Ordered a new pipercross air filter as the old one was worn out.



Ordered some new fenders as ones broken.



Fitted some proper rubber mounts on the fuel tank.



The broken shafts I'm getting custom made hardened single piece ones made this week.



In the process of getting a stainless steel exhaust made up for it now.

Stripped, painted and replaced the bolts with stainless steel ones in the reverse starter motor.

Found some old pictures of the buggy.

Starting to get ideas for some custom graphics for it.

Might be worth a tinternet search on bolts though, I was told years ago not to use them on suspension parts as they might break, not sure how true it is but I'm pretty sure stainless is more brittle so not suited to certain uses.

Cheers fellas it's getting there, I'm an engineer/mechanic mate. It looks original buggy to me the steering rack looks custom made though as I can't find another one like it. Good shout about the bolts I havnt used any on the suspension side of it. I was getting rust bleed from the old bolts that was used as they're 5 years old now lol was starting to ruin it abit. Can't beat stainless steel cost me about £60 though !
Looking foward to getting the shafts back and getting it back on the road again.
I wana get 4 wheel alignment done on it to just to make sure everything's straight and camber angles etc are correct so I'll do that soon. Also need to pump up the suspension as that's abit soft atm.
Ordered a gear indicator now too so you know what gear you're in.

There's a magnet that moves over 2 pickup points which counts the gears it's meant for a bike but I've made it fit this, works really well tbh wasn't easy to fit though.

What's the minimum distance needed between sensors for it to work?

Pretty sure u can put the sensors right next to each other it works by the magnet passing over the top of the sensor so u can put it anywhere u want as long as it goes over the sensor it'll work

Decided to make the rear suspension mounts adjustable so I can raise/lower the rear end easy.
