What fuelpressure regulators are people using, ive been running one of the fancy looking ones with the gauge that you can get on ebay.
but i don't now have any confidence in it after removing my fuel lines to take the engine out when i fitted everything back the gauge after
pressure was saying 40psi ish which is rougly to the psi what i need but after a drive it was apparent something was wrong
lots popping hesitation once back i connected the PCV and the AFR was saying 22 which is way lean so increased the pressure to get it back up and
everything was fine.
so i think i'd like to run a fixed reg to say 3bar which is about 44psi?
any reccomendations on a good fixed reg? i was thinking about the FSE adjustable but searching on here baily motorsport said they'd taken them
off some customers cars.
Have you cut the end off the rubber grommet on the gauge? The ebay ones need that opening in order to give a reference pressure I believe (That's
what it was when I last ran into that issue)

no i've not, the gauge was already fixed to the regulator where exactly is this rubber grommit is it between the reg and the gauge
the reg has been on the car about 3 yrs now so it's done well just wonder how accurate it really is, just don't know if i really need a
adjustable one really.
when i did the ZZ14 converstion there were so many extra bits i needed from the R1 that this reg did the job at the time!
Fixed all the way. I run 3.5Bar Bosch FPR
The unbranded cheap eBay jobs with the pressure gauge are usually complete crap. They tend not to regulate very well at all, so you may find pressure changes according to fuel flow.

OEM on mine, I do have a posh looking one in the drawer incase I need to overrun my injectors but running at 100% at WOT is still within the window.

Just the standard fireblade FPR, at the end of the day it's a diaphragm and needle so under boost it raises the pressure.
Car was mapped with it, been fine for the last 5 years
I run a fixed Bosch like Jeff W.
Fixed 3.5bar OEM one on the rail. Cheap eBay crap should be avoided. I had one and binned it
OEM Bocsh 3 bar for me housed in a jenvey mounting.

Cloudy, mine doesn't have a grommet it's not even an oil filled gauge.
i'm going to go with a fixed bosch one, as it seems reccomended by a few on here
i just need to decide on 3bar or 3.5 i need to double check what pressure i need i think about 44psi which would be around 3
if it had a bit more pressure would that be ok rather than to little pressure

looking at them bosch regs what fittings do they take?

been looking at bosch fixed regs but the ones I've seen have a strange fitting unless I've been looking at the wrong ones!

I think the problem is that the Bosch FPR is designed to bolt on a flange fitted directly on the OEM fuel rail, so no barbed fitting

These regs are a little different to mine as i only have two unions on mine which i had to T off as i need a return to the tank
with these ones is it fuel in from pump fuel to rail and the other one is the return?
Also i need 44psi 3bar is 43.5 is it worth me having a bit more pressure? but would 3.5 be to much which is 50psi

As long as the car is mapped with the bar rating you have it isn't a problem. 3.5bar gives slightly better spray pattern and also gives a little
more overhead in utilisation.

Ok a few psi more shouldn't be a issue then and i'll run the autotune to alter the map slightly
the one you have i guess you have a return to the tank from the fuel rail? mine doesn't so i'm asuming the one with the extra union would be

Tank - LP filter - LP Pump - swirl pot - HP filter - HP pump - fuel rail - regulator - swirl pot - tank

Ahh a little bit different to mine then!
mine is tank-HP fuel pump-HP filter- fuel reg - fuel rail and from the fuel reg back to the tank
I had to T off the reg to feed the fuel rail which is why I'm thinking the one with the twin outlets might be better as then I won't have to
fit a T to feed the rail, which is an extra connection that could leak!
and the bottom union I guess would be the return to the tank
It is normal to have the FPR after the fuel rail.
But my fuel rail doesn't have a return, not sure how I'd plumb it in otherwise
Ahhh....dead end rail. OK then your solution would work but I'd change the fuel rail I think.
Yea, the original system on the bike the regulator was built into the pump/tank. it's been fine the way I have it plumped in
just a better regulator is need ie the alpha fixed, just waiting on a call back from webcon on if the one with the twin fittings would be better.
