I am just beginning my locost conversion to R1 power and researching driveshaft options. Being in the US, getting a Dunning or Bailey Morris shaft
delivered is a bit more expensive. I do have a pricing enquiry in to Driveshaft Specialists in San Antonio. However, I did successfully shorten and
balance the driveshaft myself for the original car engine (and that as worked well for nearly 8 years of motoring) so I'm open to DIY based on an
existing shaft. One that seems to have all the right ingredients is the rear shaft for a 4wd Honda CR-V. It is 2-piece with a flange at both ends and
sliding section (not 100% sure of that but I think it must have). All it would need is shortening and maybe the flanges adapting to my needs. My front
flange will either be Hawk or DIY adapter (not sure yet). Rear is mid-80s Corolla. Anyone got any comments on this? Tried one? Rejected it for any
reason?

As your going for R1 power I'd say for all the hassle described you'd be better investing in accustom prop with TRT built in
If you're looking at the pre 2007 CRV driveshafts be wary of the cheaper Chinease diesel driveshafts on eBay. They're really bad and rapidly develop a wobble. Genuine Honda ones are great but cost about the same as a complete car!
