R1 5PW Emission issues.
Patten - 18/6/16 at 06:28 PM

Hey everyone

My Fury failed it's IVA a few months back but we have progressed with fixing the selected issues.

One issue we are struggling with is the emissions. I have tried multiple maps but really struggling to get the co2 down! Currently at 400ish...

Any one got any suggestions or maps I can try?

Setup:

Power commander III
Yamaha R1 5PW 2003
Sausage filter
4-1 manifold
6" silencer with Sports cat

Regards
Chris

Are you sure you have a CO2 problem?

Post all emissions figures if possible.

Cheers

As above,doesn't sound like a Co2 reading saying 400.

Co2 is a smaller number,like 0.5% etc,if your showing a figure like say 4% it's very rich.

Ahh sorry. Yes 4.00, typo!

So the power commander won't lower that at idle at all?

Has the 5PW got a coolant temp sensor that goes to the ECU?

Still doesn't sound right co2 should be approx. 10%, are you sure it's not a co reading of 4%? which would be running rich.

Really need to see all the figures.

Oh yeah, co!

The closest we could get looked something like this..

CO = 4.00ish
Lambda = 0.95ish
HC = 300ish

We had access to garages emissions testing machine so could see the results live. The results above are an average/best we could achieve

Anyone out there got a map I can try?

I was using Rob Collingridge's SVA/MOT map here: http://www.robcollingridge.com/kitcar/design/engine/power_commander/index.html
