General questions regarding the Fuel tanks.

What is the prefered type of tank for a BEC, Alloy or Plastic?
Who supplies what and what prices?

i guess people are paranoid about plastic tanks after all the recent failures! a decent ally tank is around 60-80 quid unbaffled AFAIK. look around the usual suspects to see who sells what.

Fabricating 2 stainless one's at the mo, c/w two baffles will keep you posted on weight, cost etc if your interested.

just a thought will price up for fabing up ally one. But i work at a stainless steel fabricators so obviously st/st is readily available.

Twin baffled stainless tanks currently £90, if u want swirl pots by arrangement.... depending on how exotic u want the system.

A Jerry Can can be adapted - brazed with a breather pipe, and fuel line brazed into it works well, and it's as cheap as fried potatos.
Only downside is it's 21 litres, so your range is about 120 miles (for a blade).
It isn't a big problem for me anyhow.

i though that most of book style fuel tanks are only about 20-25 litres arent they? 6x2x2 ish...

i previously used a boat fuel tank, £20 for about 22litres. I ended up swapping it cos it has no hole for a fuel return pipe, the vent leaked upside down and the filler neck isnt lockable. All these problems could be easily rectified though, but i decided to get a proper tank anyway.
