Hi,
Can anyone recommend a decent and reasonably priced engine builder for a 919 engine? A gearbox rebuild is needed on a 919 blade.
I know of A B Performance but was wondering if there are any other known specialists that people use?
Thanks
Try Big Cc in Wokingham. Not too far and have worked on every bike motor under the sun. I've had an engine build and a gearbox rebuild, both with absolutely no issues and good value for money. Busa engine will be going back there in the winter.
If you can get a decent second hand gearbox it only takes 3 hours to spilt the casing and swap the shafts over, it's amazingly easy just nuts and bolts.

The gearbox is designed to take the power and torque of the engine, the application may be harder as you cannot run a bike at full power for more than
a few seconds but you cannot escape the design parameters.
Provided you change gear cleanly they are fine.
My car with a turbo ramps out a lot more power than standard, I broke the box on a clumsy downshift ... Thi is more lightly the cause, same applies on
the bike nudging the gears up without a clutch is fine backed off the power not the other way although people do it!
I have a stack of bits in the shed from stripped down 919's, I have a feeling I've already sold the gearbox internals, but I'll double check tomorrow for you.
