tip over/lean angle sensor issues?
number-1 - 24/7/17 at 09:47 AM

What are you all doing with your tip over/ lean angle sensors on BECs? Is there a way to bypass them so they dont trip the ECU on fast sweeping bends? Ive got an R1 2004 engine in my Road Runner SR1.

Has anyone had similar?

Never really found the tip over sensor to be a problem when mounted in the correct orientation.

You can dismantle the sensor and pot the pendulum in the running position or you could get your ECU hacked and that function programmed out.

I popped the cover off mine (5vy R1) and stuck the pendulum with a blob of silicone.

If you don't stick it, be aware that on the R1 sensor the word "UP" has to be on the top surface and not side written the right way up. A few people have been scratching there heads trying to solve non-start issues because of that.

I dont think the 04-06 ECU is that mapable?

I found a post today and done what adithorp did and removed the sensor from the housing and glue it so its glued as level.

adithorp........just out of curiosity...what amp fuse do you have in your starter solenoid on the car? 15a or 30a?

Strarter solenoid has a 15a (and 15a for the fan citcuit).

Have a look at my simplified 5PW R1 wiring diagram. (I took out a lot of unnecessary sensors). The majority is identical to the 5VY it's just the 5VY has a few extra circuits.

You can bypass the lean angle sensor with a resistor easily on all R1 models up to 4C8 (the last I ever worked on) in the same way.

All dwiring diagrams are also on my site
