Got the chance of a 2014 R1 complete bike, from a mate who had a wee accident...
Currently got a tired GSXR 11 oil cooled engine in my locost.
Anyone got pics of R1 in a locost?
Height seems to be a problem.
All advice gratefully received!

Not heard anything about people using anything as late as a 2014 R1

If it's not been done much before then you might not find much info on the issues doing it. Most of the latter motors are taller due to the use of secondary injectors mounted above the throttles in the airbox. R1s as early as the 5pw (2003ish) often needed a bonnet bulge or hole to accommodate them.

As above engine height is the issue with new age bike engines with 8 injectors etc.

Also the wiring will be way more complicated on that R1 than your old engine,as the R1 will have ABS and all sorts of safety systems that probably go into the ECU.

Also have a 2008 cbr1000rr engine, height problem again, but think there will be a lot more info available on it...
