Pedals!
jambojeef - 4/2/05 at 11:53 PM

Has anyone used these pedals:

http://www.nfauto.co.uk/pedal_box.htm

Im thinking whether they would be cool for use in a BEC?

Can anyone help with the brake ratios on the pedal? How do you work these out? Im running granada front calipers and sierra discs!

they're a tad on the expensive side wouldn't you say?

jambojeef - 5/2/05 at 12:27 AM

Er....its cheaper than AP ones! I know what you mean - you could make them cheaper and they dont look that complicated - hmmm dunno. What does hellfire run at the end of its tunnel?

Jambojeef

I'm building an MK and they use a floor mounted pedal system. Your welcome to come over and have a look for inspiration.

Although having read Rorty's comments on floor mounted pedals and gravel, I'm going to shorten the lower sections.

Cheers

Mike

we use these
the benefits are if you are vertically challenged like myself
then you can move the hole pedal assembly back towards you so you can get the arm to leg ratio comfortable

I have fitted them in my Avon for the opposite reason.
Being 6ft, they give me more legroom than the Sierra pedal assembly which is normally fitted.
Lightning uses this pedal box in his blade powered Avon with no problems I know of and he is 6' 4" tall!

Will post later some pics of the finished version.

Erwe!!! Woah! They're beautiful! Are these an Erwe-made item? If only I could cut metal and made it look like it grew that way from the tree...

On a different note - how do you work out the pedal ratio then?

Its a BEC so its gonna be light but where do I factor in size of me calipers and stuff liek that to work out me master cylinder sizes? Me and Liam are both a bit stuck here!

erwe - 8/2/05 at 05:02 AM

Yes it's Erwe made, I always want to make things myself.....
Pedal ratio is like the wilwood ones Rescued attachment pedal-lr.jpg

those things are awsome, you should make a few and try selling them.

erwe - 8/2/05 at 08:27 PM

I can sell them in different stages, as a kit (unwelded) about 140 euro (90 pounds)
welded incl nylon bushes 180 euro (120pound) or welded with alu plates 196 euro (130pound)
The balance bar is from Ralley design (20 pounds)
I have to send it from the Netherlands, i can look up that price if you are interested, drop me a mail at sevennl@hotmail.com

To work out cylinders, look for posts by MikeP - search "master cylinders|" he has a great spreadsheet to do that
