There appears to be a cheap ZZR1100 for sale on Pistonheads along with a few other engines including an ex Radical Powertec Busa engine. CLICK.

I'd buy it as a spare for £150. (But don't tell the wife!!)

Surely it would be perfect for that money... not pinched or anything!

I would check its engine number. Occasionally the cops would attend our meetings to check engine numbers. One turned out to have been altered, though it was uncertain who had done the deed; the current owner or the former owner.
It was quite well done too. The old number had been welded over and then ground smooth. New numbers were stamped into it prior to re-spraying the area with the correct engine paint. The cops were suspicious because they saw a little bit of over-spray or pickling.
They recommend you sand any paint away from the area surrounding the stamped numbers.
The same applies to motorbike headstocks here. I had a tricked up Honda XR650 with, amongst other things, a re-sprayed frame. I was turned away from the registration authorities and told to come back when the frame number was exposed. Lots of bikes here with rusty headstocks.

My point exactly Rorty...

However, for spares may be good...
