I have a Busa powered Caterham, I was wondering how safe it was for the transmission to do that on a regular basis?

It is way cool to upshift without the clutch, as long as I don't break anything.

No problems with clutchless upshifts,
Bike gearboxes are very tolerant of this and it helps reduce the backlash in a BEC.
Use the clutch between 1st an 2nd 'cos the neutral screws it up and keep the revs high....

It is quite common not to use clutch for upshifts on a BEC. Some people don't even bother for downshifting although most probably do use clutch for downshifting. It can be a bit clunky sometimes going from 1st to 2nd without the clutch, especially if you're taking it steady (its fine if you're hammering it though). Just back of the throttle ever so slightly before shifting.

I wouldn't do it on downchanges - you run the risk of smashing dogs.....

I rarely use the clutch on upchanges, especially when on two wheels.... You'll find it to be somewhat smoother than using the clutch when nailing it!
