Hi,
I seem not to be able to find the details for Barnett UK.
I'm looking to replace my clutch discs as I need to open the clutch anyway and also just in case since I have a track day coming which takes
place quite far away from home.
I've read in other threads that EBC friction plates are good but EBC uprated springs are crap. There's a shop here where I can get EBC
products but not Barnett.
So I was thinking about either ordering springs only from Barnett and buying EBC friction plates in the shop or ordering springs + friction plates +
steel plates all from Barnett (if they take overseas orders).
I'm not sure what uprated springs I have now, so Tom if you read this please tell me Could be I already have Barnetts?
Cheers,
Alex
Alex, have a look on the PDQ website, as they are the UK importers I think.
For the blade you'll need MT-99-5 uprated springs I believe (check that code with them though).
As for frictions, having experienced both I would personally go with the proper Honda ones over EBCs, but EBCs are a lot cheaper and still do a
reasonably good job (just a bit more grabby and less progressive), so pays your money and takes your choice really.

Had major slipping problems in CBR1000 powered car. Fitted full Barnett kit - does a great job! Hill starts require a very delicate foot but otherwise superb.
Barnett frictions are also meant to be good although Ive not had any personal experience. Unless you can source them over there and the price is around the same though, Id just stick with the Honda frictions and Barnett springs to be honest. Also you need to make sure your steel plates are OK, with no significant blueing (which can be removed with fine wet/dry sandpaper) and no warping. A reasonable way to check for this is to stack all the steel plates one on top of each other, and get your feeler gauge out and look for gaps between plates. If there are any significant gaps then you might need to replace the affected ones.
Cool guys, thank you. I've been searching for old threads here and read about TTS springs as well, any good or should I definitely stick to
Barnetts? Any other GOOD alternatives?
Cheers,
Alex
TTS springs are OK, better than stock Honda ones but the Barnetts were better in my experience.
Yep, definitely Barnett's.
Cheers guys, let's see what I can get
where are you going to trakday race??
i'm interested as an visitor for seeing your car and your racing capatibilities..
TKs
p.s. how is your friends 'sva' going?
i'm searching for an engineer who can make my paperwork in condition to homologate the car...
do you have any numbers??(telefhone, e-mail??)
Hi,
Been offered HRC uprated springs, do you know them?
Tks,
My mobile is 687242448 My racing capabilities are none, so this track day is a development plan for them The track day is taking place in Cheste
(Valencia) on the 3rd of July and you are most welcome to come along. I should be arriving there on saturday and use that evening / night to chill.
As for the engineering office, TÜV refused to do that doc (certificado de características / ficha reducida) for me. I used some other office in Madrid
which did a crap job (I recall at least 3 mistakes in one sheet, including the type of chassis described as a monocoque, go figure), but I didn't
bother because this doc is just an intermediate step (you don't keep it once you get the full registration). If you want to use them:
ASISTEC CARRASCOSA
Oficina de asesoría técnica
Avda. Juan Carlos I, 110, 1ºF
28916 Leganés, Madrid
Tlf 916866946
Fax 916877684

acarrascosa@asistec-carrascosa.com
Or maybe you would like to contact them and ask for an office closer to your area, don't forget to describe what the car is (avoids
surprises).
Good luck!
ahh sow you said one time you have the homologation they drop the most expensive paperwork ever in the recycle bin..??
What i do need to mention is that i need an engineeer to make up a project.
in that project there will be the Ficha technica reducida...
The web-site you gave me doesn't show up over here? does it work anywhere??
will try mail.
Thanxs anyway
will let you know if i come or not!
valencia will be some travelling from Salamanca..
Tks
I have just ordered a set of Barnetts directly from PDQ (as there seems to be no Spanish dealer), they gave the exact same part number (MT-99-05),
Chris you are amazing. It may be the case that I already have those in my car but I'm not sure I can reach the previous owner Tom in time
Tks, I suspect they printed the website address on the cards but they don't actually have a website. I wouldn't bother with email, I
don't think the address will work and they won't speak English anyway. You will need to give them a ring and speak Spanish. Let me know if
you need me to ring them.
It's funny I was recommended this engineering office by one of the two places that can do europe-wide type approval for cars!!
Cheers,
Alex
Alez, the springs in your car are indeed the Barnett ones.
Oops!! Oh well, then I now have an extra set which I can use to decorate my room or something
Thank you anyway!
