hi guys
ive got a to try and sycronize these cars its driving me mad,my mates got this gadget the you stick onto the trumpet of the carb and measures the air
flow.
how do i know what the correct setting should be so i can set one carb up ,then set the other 3 to that .
hope this makes sense .
if that fails i will have to get it rolling road tested.
been sunny all weekend cant drive it coz its running very badly

you need to just match them, AFAIK. Pick the commonest and sync the rest. im no expert but saw it done last week. Do you know what screw does what on
the carbs? if not, you may be best leaving it to a pro, unless you are a good learner.
on reflection, the airflow depends on the idle speed, so there would be no specific value, it would vary depending on engine setup and idle speed.
For webers, you are meant to keep adjusting it to 900rpm as it changes.

Like JoelP said, the gadget your talking about is just to synchronise the carbs, i.e. so they are all the same, there is no specific value.

Hi there,
Have a look at this link, I balanced mine last friday.
http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=30181
Carb 3 is the primary carb and you should balance the others to this one, start by balancing 1&2 with the screw in between them and then balance
3&4 with the screw between them, then astly balance 1&2 to 3&4 using the screw between carbs 2&3.
The link explains it in really simple terms, it's quite straightforward once you get going.
HTH,
Rich
