Ages ago I read somewhere about one of the engines having a one way clutch on the starter assembly, which needed to be modified as in the event that
the shaft was run backwards it would break loads of bits.
This can happen if the car was spun and ended up going backwards.
Which engines are affected by this? Just reading the manual for my blade and it does have a clutch/one-way bit on the starter/alternator assy.
Does the blade one need altering to prevent damage?

No need to alter anything - just be quick with the clutch foot in the event of a spin! It's normal reaction to take this procedure in this situation, but just to make a note...
