hi all.

Ive got 2 zx9 engines in the garage, neither has been run in a long time, and it will be at least 6 months til either starts.

Is there anything i can do to help prevent them seizing up? Ive sparked them both over, so i know neither is seized now. Just cant be arsed wasting them

Standard advice is to squirt oil onto the tops of each piston and to turn them over ever couple of weeks. If you really want to go to town I believe somebody is now selling desicant to screw into the sparkplug hole but as it will end up desicating the world via the inlet and exhaust valves I not sure how much value this gives. One thing not to do is to put them into plastic bags as they can act as vapour traps and effectively make the situation worse

You can get special oil for laying up engines --- I can't think of the manufacturers name right now -- I am pretty sure if anybody sells it Frosts will (price ?)
