Right, I've got the fuel pump working, but now I can't get a spark.
Late last night as I was testing the circuits I dropped the lead from the ignitor unit to the coil. It sparked as it hit the chassis and popped the
main 30amp fuse. Up until that point it my test lamp was flashing when I turned the engine over. Now all four leads to the coils are +12V all the
time.
Is it f0cked? Is it something you can repair / replace valves, resistors or is it full of microchips etc?
Mike
copycat i did the same in effect and fried the ignitor, not repairable.call Aldon and weep, they gave me a 15% discount off a new one.Still expensive for a block of resin
whoops probably not my ignitor unit type as your a bec builder
Whats inside?....liquorice allsorts stuck to plastic which somehow makes things work which beats the hell out of me how and why!!
That will be pumffed now as i did something similar with one of the coils on a Triumph motor........£90 expensive butter finger moments really hurt.
must be somthing in the water! I burnt out mine last week! flames coming out of it! think it was cos i hooked up the good old start n charge without
fitting battery as well!
i cut mine open, nice big chip inside, lots of capacitors, two big diodes burnt to perfection!

woo who! i just won an ebay auction for zzr electrical parts! loom, ignitor, coils,ht leads, junction box,5 relays, horns, starter solinod all for 36 quid!!
i have a pic of my burnt out ignitor on my photo archive, red ring shows toasted diodes!
Once had the chance to ask an engineer about a similar module on a car..his answer..oh a few diodes, resistors, capacitors and an FM chip..so i ask FM? whats that ..he answered with a big smile and said F..n Magic.
