CBR1000 to CBR1100xx Upgrade...

I'm contemplating a possible engine upgrade for my CBR1000 Striker. If starting from scratch I would probably go for say an R1 engine which generally seems to have the best power/weight/price. However if I went the CBR11000xx would it be easier? i.e. could I use my existing engine mounts/wireing loom/gear linkage etc...

Nope. All except bits of the gear linkage would NOT be interchangeable I'm afraid...

Agree with Coose, nothing will be interchangeable so you may as well go for the R1 which is just as powerful as the 'bird and a lot more reliable in a BEC (unless you want to dry sump)

Any tips for fitting the CBR1000 guys? I'm on with that job at the moment.

I've got the engine fitted into the chassis (on rubber too) but am puzzling with the exhaust (don't want to come out of the bonnet) and the electrics and the whole gear change thing.

Have a look at my photo archive and see how it was achieved on my Striker: http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/photos.php?action=gal&user=pdw709
