I looked at an aprillia RSV Mille engine briefly. I think it would be good. I went for an R1 for simplicity. I reckon that the cost saving for an unusual engine would be more than lost in getting a cradle and exhaust. There were also plenty of people here who could help when my R1 didn't start. Aprillia knowledge maybe a bit more thin on the ground.

That said, The Mille is torquey and has good gear ratios for a BEC. It is also dry sumped.

One guy on here - Spunky used a VTR Firestorm V twin if i remeber correctly, might be work contacting him if you have any specific questions.

I am using a VTR in my single seater but I think there may be an issue fitting a drive shaft adaptor on the drive spindle (I am running chain drive)

also wouldnt the angle the engine needs to be on mean that one of the barrels would be sticking out th side of the chassis? or would the 60degree V be close enough for this not to be a problem?

You most likely would very much need a TRT prop to stop it shaking to bits on acceleration!
