Ive managed to get a quote from one suppiler but i guess its good to do the rounds before placing an order.
So, who makes blade exhuasts for a locost chassis?
If you're on about manifolds - I'd like to hear this too !!
What quote have you had so far ?
PS. If you or anyone wants an aftermarket bike can (many designs including titanium etc) please send me a pm and I'll put you in touch with a
friend who makes cans for blue flame and mtc !)
Have you checked out Stuart-Taylor?
I believe they do one for their 'locoblade' which is basically the same design as the locost chassis.
Mk's frame is very similar to the book frame. Give them a try.
i was flicking through MNRs site and asked for a quote which was 315 for a budget system
I currently have a stuart taylor one on my locoblade - not happy with it at all. Poor fit, non equal length pipes. It'll be for sale as soon as I
sort a 'proper' one out.
Mike
i got a mk system,it needed slightly bending and shortening at the end ,apart from that was ok
My MK one was good but too loud. I had a silencer made locally for £180 it is 6" diameter x 24" long. This is quieter but still not
enough.
Its length you need, not so much girth - Ooo errr
Even so I had to put on another Merlin Motorsports muffler on the ends for track days.
Make sure the headers on the manifold are equal length.
After speaking to Jack Frost at Holeshot - he stated there is very little difference in performance from slightly unequal length headers to equal
length one's. Lot's of high performance cars have them apparently.
Lots of manufacturer's make and some only supply them - depends how much you want to pay.
Without prejudice and in alphabetical order:
MK Engineering
MK Sportscars
MNR
Raven Racing
Staurt Taylor
are the only one's I know that manufacture different systems
The ST one I had on my car originally also had unequal lengths, but it didnt appear to hinder the performance. I took it to the rollers at TTS to get it set up when I first built the car and they did one power run, pronounced there was no room for significant improvement so it wasnt worth me spending extra money on them trying different jets etc, and I just paid for a power run and toddled off home.
