hi guys,
Have managed to fit up a SPA dual gauge to me an old oil pressure sensor using op-amps!)for my ZX12r engine and have being playing around with the
callibration.. looking at the manual it says 23 (yes!) 23 psi at 4000 rpm @90c !!
Now that seems a bit low to me and just wondered if anyone else has measured the oil pressure or has a gauge fitted to their engine...
Does seem a little low - we're just about to fit our Spa Gauge (ah-hem) we'll let you know...
Steve
How are you planning on calibrating it, and out of interest why can't you use an SPA sender?
Well managed to aquire a gauge but no senders.. a new spa pressure sender will set you back about 80 quid! and I am a tight arsed scotsman. It gives
out a 1v to 5v signal and not a resistance like most senders. You can set up just about anything with the software built into the gauge ( span,
offset, alarms, ) it is the dogs of gauges

Ah ok fair enough, didnt realise they were that expensive just for the sender
Were you planning on calibrating it on your engine then, or something a bit more controllable / accurate?

I have set my dry sump regulator to that setting, and its incredible how much higher it goes when the revs pick up..
Runs about 60 psi most of the time...

thats good to know
I have a 0 to 100 psi gauge i am going to tee off the sender supply to set it up. Am not too concerned about the accuracy its more to show any change
in pressure which i am sure you agree is more important. the gauge also records the lowest measurement taken which is what I really need with this
engine
